Folks, I want to take a moment to talk about the recent Hamas attack on Israel from a biblical perspective.
I guess the question we should seek an answer for is, “What does God’s Word, the Bible, say about conflicts like these?”
First and foremost, we need to remember that God values peace and justice. Psalm 34:14, it says, “Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” As followers of Jesus, we are called to be peacemakers and work towards harmony in the world.
Now, when it comes to Israel, God has a special place for His nation. In Genesis 12:3, God promises Abraham that He will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse them. Folks, this means that as followers of Jesus, we should stand with Israel and pray for their protection during times of conflict.
Jesus also teaches us about forgiveness and reconciliation in Matthew 5:9, when He says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” So folks, even in times of conflict, we should strive to promote peace and reconciliation between all parties involved. It is our duty to seek peace and pray for the well-being of all nations involved.
Talking about prayer, we need not forget the power of prayer. We should pray for the safety and well-being of all those affected by this conflict. Pray for wisdom for world leaders involved in finding a peaceful resolution. Most importantly, pray for peace to prevail in the region.
As Believers, our ultimate hope is in Jesus Christ. Revelation 21:4 says, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Just think for a minute…, one day, all conflicts and suffering will cease, and true peace will reign.
Folks, as we go through these difficult times, remember to seek peace, stand with Israel, promote forgiveness, and hold on to our hope in Jesus.
You all have a blessed day, and I’ll talk with you later!
