Thoughts From God’s Word – Revelation 3:1-6 The Church of Sardis

In Revelation chapter 3 verses 1 through 6, Jesus is addressing the church in Sardis. He commends them for their reputation of being alive but warns them that they are actually dead in their faith.

This is a powerful reminder for us to not just go through the motions of being a Christian but to truly live out our faith with passion and sincerity. Jesus calls us to wake up and strengthen what remains, to remember the truth we have received and hold fast to it.

Don’t be like the church in Sardis, appearing alive on the outside but spiritually dead on the inside. Examine your heart and ensure that your faith is alive and active. Be known not just for your reputation, but for your genuine love and devotion to Christ, so that you may hear those beautiful words from Jesus: “I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life.”

Until tomorrow, have a blessed evening!
