Why did I worry?

This morning, or I should say this afternoon, yep, I had another rough night, but the good news is in a couple of days, my dentist should have the problem fixed. Anyway, as I was reading my daily chapter of Proverbs, which is 16, verse 3 really hit home, it says, “Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.” That verse reminded me of the importance of aligning my efforts with God’s purpose.

Many of you know me well enough to know that I don’t worry about much, because Kimmie and I try to live by Jesus’ promise in Matthew 6:33: “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.”  That promise has always given us peace.

But, the last few days, I caught myself thinking I could handle everything on my own and worrying about how I was going to accomplish it. Folks, that’s a slippery slope to get into. This afternoon, I gave God my problem and asked for His guidance and strength. Guess what! I don’t have to worry about it, He worked it out.

Folks, it’s easy to fall for Satan’s schemes, and I want to remind you to commit your problems, struggles, and plans to God. Seek His kingdom first in all you do. Let me tell you, when you do that, you can be confident that everything will work out.

Y’all have a blessed day!
