Thoughts From Proverbs 18:2

As I was reading my daily chapter of Proverbs, chapter 18 verse 2 got me wondering how many times that I’ve been a fool. Proverbs 18:2 says,

“A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.”

A fool is someone who prioritizes their own voice over genuine understanding. We often rush to share what we think without truly listening or seeking to understand others. The Bible teaches us that understanding is a crucial part of wisdom, that requires humility and patience. When we take the time to listen, we open ourselves up to new perspectives and insights. Which not only enriches our own lives but also fosters deeper connections with those around us. As Believers, we are called to seek truth and wisdom, qualities that come from a heart willing to learn and grow. So the next time I’m in a discussion or even scrolling through a social media feed, I hope I remember Proverbs 18:2 and ask myself…. “Am I seeking understanding, or am I just eager to express my own thoughts?”

Y’all have a blessed day!
