Global Bible Month Challenge Day 15

Morning folks,

Today is day 15 and we’re halfway through our Global Bible Month Challenge. We’re in 1st John chapter 2 where John makes it pretty clear that we should strive to obey God’s commands, not just know about them.

In verse 6 John tells us that, “Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.” Folks think about what John wrote, it’s not enough to just say we’re Believers our lives should reflect Jesus. Are we loving others? Are we forgiving? Are we seeking justice and showing compassion? Are we?

In verses 15 through 17 John also warns us about loving the world. Folks, it’s tempting to chase after worldly pleasures and possessions. But John reminds us that these things are short-lived, and only those who do the will of God will live forever. Folks, take a minute to reflect and ask yourself, “Am I truly living like Jesus?” “Am I prioritizing God’s will over the fleeting temptations of the world?” Folks, we must strive to live lives of obedience and love, then we can be confident in our relationship with God and have true life.
