Daily Thoughts – 2 Jan 2025

Me and Kimmie had to get up early this morning to take Emily and Essandra to Mercy Jefferson for their check-ups, and while sitting in the parking lot me and Kimmie was talking about last night’s Bible study, where the question come up “How much time do we spend with God?” “Do we spend enough time with Him?” You know, praying, reading His Word and reflecting on what it says, doing what God lays on our hearts to do. The answer is… probably not!

What James said came to mind “it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” Folks, this should get us thinking about our responsibilities as believers. If we know that spending time with God, through prayer, worship, or reading scripture, is essential for our spiritual growth and relationship with Him, then neglecting that time can indeed be considered a sin, a sin of omission…failure to do something good or right that you know you should do.

Spending time with God is a vital part of your relationship with Him, and when you choose to skip this time, you’re not only missing out on the very source of strength, peace, and guidance in your life, but you’re also neglecting the opportunity to grow closer to Him. Remember, our relationship with God requires a commit to making time for Him. I’ll leave you with the words of John…

“Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.”
1 John 5:21

Y’all have a blessed evening!
