Today’s Thoughts – 31 May 2026

It’s Sunday and guess what? Kimmie and I didn’t make it to church. Not because we didn’t want to, but because this dummy over did myself yesterday and well, let’s say no sleep and pain. You can read about what I did in yesterday’s post. I did have my weekly Saturday night talk with my aunt last night, it’s one of things Kimmie and I look forward too. My aunt hit me with a question about my journey through Psalm 119, why I jumped from verse 27 to verse 75. The only answer I could give was… there was nothing there for me to reflect on. She said “Well, that’s hard to believe”! She knows I always have something to say. What my aunt said was on my mind all night, and maybe just maybe it was part of God’s plan for me to read it when I needed too. So, this morning I started back at verse 28 and that is has far as I got, because that is how I’ve been feeling lately. Psalm 119:28 says…,

“My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.”

Folks, when troubles and sorrows weigh you down, it’s okay to acknowledge the pain honestly before God. He welcomes our honest emotions. At the same time, we must anchor our hope and strength in God’s Word. No matter what you are facing today, your soul can find refreshment and strength in the Scriptures. Folks, if you are hurting today, open your Bible and find a verse or passage that speaks to God’s love, faithfulness, and care. Memorize it or write it down and carry it with you as a reminder of God’s strength in your weakness.

Have a blessed evening!
