Thoughts From Psalm 139:23-24

You know It’s one thing to ask God to watch over you, and quite another to ask Him to search you. In Psalm 139:23-24 David invites God to do a deep examination, not just a quick glance. David opens his heart, his thoughts, and his motives to the Lord and says,

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

We often hide our anxious thoughts and secret sins even from ourselves, we make excuses or pretend they are not there. But God already knows what’s in our hearts, and He sees with perfect clarity. To ask Him to search us is an act of trust. It is saying, Lord, I want to be right with You more than I want to be comfortable. David doesn’t just ask for a search, he asks for direction. Once God reveals what is offensive, He wants to be led in the way everlasting. God doesn’t search us to shame us, He searches us to cleanse us and to guide us.

Folks, ask God to search you, to reveal what needs to change, and to gently lead you back to His everlasting way.
