Genesis 3 records the first sin and its aftermath. The serpent questioned God’s word, Eve doubted God’s goodness, and both ate the forbidden fruit. Their eyes were opened, but not to godliness but to shame. They hid from God, blamed each other, and faced consequences… pain, toil, and death. Yet even in judgment, grace glimmers. God clothed them with skins, and promised a future offspring who would crush the serpent’s head.
We still face the same temptation today, we question whether God’s ways are truly good. Folks, every sin begins with doubting God’s will and laws, and like Adam and Eve, we cannot hide. God’s response is not only justice but mercy. He seeks us out, covers our shame, and points us to Jesus Christ, the promised offspring who bore our curse.
Something to think about… What area of your life are you tempted to doubt God’s goodness, and how does the cross prove His love?
Have a blessed day!
