Confession

Folks, there is something I need to share with you, and this is not easy to say. I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder. If you’re not familiar with what Seasonal Affective Disorder is, it’s a form of depression that occurs during certain seasons of the year. Typically, it begins in late autumn or early winter and lasts until spring or summer. Symptoms of winter Seasonal Affective Disorder resemble those of major depression.

It’s that time of year that it starts to affect me, and one of the coping mechanisms is to talk about it and focus on staying busy.

Some of you might be thinking…. Isn’t depression a sign of lack of faith? No, mental health issues happen to everyday people, even to believers who have strong faith and godly community. Folks, emotional honesty is part of faith, as is the intimate act of trusting God with your real self instead of hiding how you feel.

So, folks, you get the honor of listening to me express my thoughts and feelings about this winters journey!

Y’all have a blessed evening, and I’ll talk with you later!
