On Jan 1 2023, Kimmie and I started Journey Through the Bible, where we read the Bible starting in Genesis to Revelation book by book, chapter by chapter, 1 chapter a day and shared our thoughts on what we read on YouTube and sometimes on here. Well, today at church we started Journey Through the Bible with all our church members. Kimmie and I are inviting you join us as we journey through God’s Words and we all can share our thoughts, insights, and questions. We start today with Genesis 1. Hope you join us. Below is my post for today.
Journey Through the Bible

Genesis 1
In the beginning, God created. Before there was light or land, time or tide, there was God, already at work, already speaking, already bringing order from emptiness. Genesis 1 doesn’t begin with our effort or our worth, it begins with God’s initiative. He speaks, and chaos becomes cosmos. He forms, fills, and calls it good. And at the center of it all, He creates humanity in His own image, not as an afterthought, but as a deliberate reflection of His character, entrusted with care for what He has made.
Folks, we live in a world that often feels formless and void, noisy, fragmented, hurried. But heres the good news… God still speaks order into chaos. This week, begin each day by remembering that you are made in His image. Let that identity shape how you work, rest, and treat others. When life feels unformed, invite God to speak into it.
Something to think about… If God called His creation good before sin ever entered the story, what might it mean that He calls you good… not because of what you do, but because of whose image you bear?
