Today’s journey through Psalm 119, I’m on verses 2 and 3. When I started this journey I thought it would take maybe a week to study, reflect, and see what I might learn. Well, I was wrong, it’s going to be a longer journey than I thought, but that’s ok. Anyway, verses 2 and 3 says,
“Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart—
they do no wrong but follow his ways.”
Psalm 119:2-3
What lesson am I supposed to learn from this? That true blessedness and happiness come from wholeheartedly seeking God and obeying His commandments. When I genuinely pursue God’s ways with sincerity and commitment, I live my life aligned with His will, which leads to righteousness and peace.
How can I apply that lesson to my life? By studying and obeying God’s Word in my daily life, seeking God sincerely in prayer, worship, and decision-making, striving to align my actions with His teachings, even when it’s challenging, and avoiding behaviors and choices that go against God’s commands.
How does this help me to draw closer to God? By keeping God’s statutes and seeking Him with my whole heart, I deepen my relationship with Him. My obedience opens the door for God’s blessings, guidance, love, and trust. My continual commitment helps me experience His presence and faithfulness more fully in my life.
Y’all have a blessed evening!
