Morning Thoughts – 30 Apr 2026

As I was reading this morning Proverbs 30:5-6 reminded me of the absolute truth and reliability of God’s Word.

“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who come to him for protection. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you, and you will be proved a liar.”
Proverbs 30:5-6 NLT

Life is full of opinions, information that seems to be always changing, and conflicting advice, it’s reassuring to know that every word God speaks is true and trustworthy. His promises don’t fail, His guidance never misleads, and His wisdom stands firm through every generation.

When the verse says, “He is a shield to those who come to Him for protection,” it encourages me to run to God with full confidence. No matter what trials or uncertainties I face, God’s Word will guard my hearts and my mind. Like a shield, His truth surrounds me and protects me from fear, doubt, and confusion.

But, the warning in verse 6, “Do not add to his words…” is just as important. It teaches me to approach Scripture with humility and careful respect. Sometimes, I might be tempted to twist or reinterpret God’s Word to fit my own ideas or desires. However, this verse challenges me to accept God’s Word as it is and trust His perfect wisdom instead of altering it to suit my convenience.

Y’all have a blessed day and may you find strength and protection today in the unwavering truth of God’s Word!
