Todays Thoughts – 27 May 2026

Folks, here is something I’ve been thinking about the last couple of months, especially since Sunday afternoon. Our injuries, our sickness, and our struggles often feel like setbacks or burdens. But, did you know the Bible teaches us that our pain can have a greater purpose, to be used by God to encourage, strengthen, and help others who are hurting.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 says…,

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

Paul is reminding us that God comforts us precisely so we can extend that comfort to others. Our experiences of pain and healing enable us to empathize deeply and minister effectively to those going through similar trials.

Job 2:10 says…,

“Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.”

Job’s story puts suffering in perspective. It’s part of our human experience, and through it, our faith is tested and refined. Even in pain, Job maintained his faith, showing us that suffering need not separate us from God or from being His instruments.

Psalm 34:18 says…
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

God’s presence is most tangible to those who are hurting. When you are down, this nearness prepares you to be a channel of His love and hope to others who feel broken too.

So, reflect on your experiences of sickness, injury, or hardship as a form of ministry preparation. Reach out to someone who is struggling physically or emotionally, sharing not just your sympathy but your testimony of God’s sustaining grace. Pray for God to transform your pain into a vessel of His comfort for others. Remember, your healing, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual is not only for you but also a beacon of God’s faithfulness to others in their journeys.

Y’all have a blessed evening!
