Morning Thoughts – 2 Jun 2026

Today started out different, at first I thought I was dreaming. Me and Kimmie woke up at the same time, had our prayer time, sitting together at the dining room table eating breakfast and reading God’s Word. A routine we did for years, till my sleeping habits changed. Maybe this is day one of kickstarting our routine, let ya know tomorrow. Anyways, I was reading Matthew chapters 10-15 a few verses caught my eye for a short thought, nothing to really talk about till I read chapter 13 verses 24-30, Jesus’s parable of the wheat and tares.

“Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”‘”
Matthew 13:24-30

Jesus is teaching us about the coexistence of good and evil in the world. The wheat represents the people of God, growing and flourishing in faith, while the weeds symbolize the presence of sin and opposition sown by the enemy. It may seem unfair that both grow side by side, but the owner’s decision to let them grow together until the harvest shows God’s patience and wisdom.

God allows both good and evil to coexist temporarily because premature judgment could harm the innocent. Like the servants, we might be tempted to judge others or ourselves too quickly. But, Jesus reminds us to trust in God’s timing and justice. At the final harvest… God’s perfect time, He will bring justice and separate what is good from what is evil.

So folks, instead of becoming discouraged or condemning others, strive to nurture the good seed in your heart and trust God to handle what is beyond your control and remember that God sees the full picture and will bring everything to light in His perfect time.

Have and a blessed day and I’ll talk with ya later!

  1. This is one of the hardest concepts that Christians and non Christians have the hardest time understanding. How can God allow all the bad stuff to happen in the world while people suffer. The answer is found in scripture.
