Today’s Thoughts – 24 Aug 2026

Woke up at 12:40 again this afternoon, 3rd day in a row. Hey, at least I’m being consistent. Has I was reading this afternoon and attempting to write from Zephaniah, a verse from my daily reading of the Proverbs kept coming to mind. As I reflecting on Zephaniah I realized my plans wasn’t God’s plan for today. There is a verse or two that talks about that, I just can’t recall where. Anyways, the verse that kept coming to mind was Proverbs 24:12 and it says,…

“Don’t excuse yourself by saying, ‘Look, we didn’t know.’ For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your life knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve.”

Solomon reminds us that God understands all hearts and sees everything. He’s the One who guards your life, who watches over you constantly. Nothing escapes His notice, not the need around you and not the true reason you chose not to act. He knows when we genuinely did not know, and He knows when we knew but chose to remain silent.

This is both a sobering warning and a comforting truth. It’s sobering because we are accountable not only for what we do, but for what we fail to do when we had the opportunity to help. God will repay each person according to their actions, including sins of omission. We can’t hide behind willful ignorance.

It’s also comforting because it reminds us that God truly sees. When you feel unseen in your own struggle, when you wonder if anyone notices your pain or your need for rescue, this verse assures you that God does. He sees you, He guards your life, and He will not ignore injustice.

Folks, ask God to open your eyes to what He wants you to see. Is there someone who needs your encouragement, your help, or your willingness to speak the truth in love? Don’t turn away. Ask for courage to act, trusting that God who sees your heart will also give you the strength and wisdom to do what is right.

Have a blessed evening and may God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.
